Ep 28: The path to building a 7 level team

"What can you do to win? Listen and truly understand the needs and wants of the individual across the table" - Ryand Campbell

Ryand is currently working majorly in the Brantford area, the very neighborhood he was raised in. He also co-founded the Campbell and Company Real Estate that partnered with Keller Williams Realty for a more accessible network of top-producing agents and more innovative technology tools in the industry.

Here’s a rundown of our conversation with Ryand:

  • Ryand before real estate: Cars

  • Why he almost let go of Keller Williams but ‘didn’t go for the dollar’

  • The value was learning from successful people, following systems and roadmaps

  • Campbell and Co. and partnership with KW

  • First real estate agent as a learning experience

  • Venturing into Maps Coaching

  • Gameplan: Leverage-double down on leadership, accountabilities, and training

  • “Leaders develop leaders”

  • Listening as a very important life skill

  • The 3 levels of listening

  • “Listen to the words, listen to the story”

  • What can I do to win? Listen.

As a realtor, we are drilled to ask questions and be prepared with follow-up responses but usually, we end up with more output than input just to avoid a NO from a client. Spending time running after clients, pushing services, sending mass emails, and conducting marketings are typical. Perhaps we should be listening?

  • Level of Listening

    • Barely Listening. When you are strategizing for ways to fix what your client is saying.

    • Really listening. When you are paying attention to every detail of what your client is saying.

    • Truly Listening. Watching body tone and language. It is when you don’t have other thoughts funneling through your head and just paying attention in the conversation.
